Mary Lou Buschi
Dear _____,
A blindfold for a child’s game
allows a slice of sight.
The berries on the bottom
of the tray will always taste
like iron.
When the wind gusts small glass stars
your cheek will be out of reach.
Stop and listen to the elephant’s
thoughts, pay close attention to the feelings
inside a metal cage.
When the moon is called blood orange
the dark will be coming faster.
