A bend in the highway,
suddenly in all this flatness—
yellow bluffs
a red belfry

and a murder of crows,
rising

Where is the girl who sang
till the yellow moon tumbled into her lap?

Where the boy who saw it fall
and gathered the shards from the river?

Once I tried to hold ice.
Can you guess where it went?
