Morning
by Jim Heston

a pair of fish swim into my dream
silver streamers that leap
out of the water
like stitches

they guide me to a place
I know is less real
than a dream can be
and stay a dream

the morning is deep sea slow
forehead pressed to glass
waiting for the
newspaper
