Gray light 1957
entering window
the wallpaper's
flowers seem to
grimace
then relax
there is nothing
to worry about
it is 1957
gray light
enters the window
without care
if one looked
close enough
one might see
a trace a smudge
a scratch on
the surface
on the surface of
what I don't know
there seems to be
a frame around
this entire scene
as if this thing
we know
wasn't real
a light that falls
gray against
a wall and splits
each thought
thrown at it
in two in three
in four
it is time
it is 1957
change is in the air
light shines from
a place far away
this wallpaper
knows each voice
and each number
one after the other
ascending
in importance
floating with
the scratch
the smudge
the trace
all of this points
to a tired truth
the light that
enters the window
is not moving
it is 1957
nothing moves
a voice
counts down
the wallpaper
relaxes
the window is not there
it is not
1957
the house burned
down in a fire
that killed
no one
now the moon
is full
now
it isn't
