This summer, to celebrate release of our 50th title, Ravenna made a significant donation of 400 books to the 2010 summer conference of the West Virginia Writers Group. Why West Virginia? Two hundred of those books were our New Britain Diary, 1954; An Anthropologist’s Journal by West Virginia native, Daris Swindler (deceased, 2007.) The books were in the conference “goody bags” handed out to the 200 conference participants (accompanied by one each from a selection of 200 of our other books.) It was a great success, the conference, and our books were very well received–the participants getting to know us and, as it has turned out, vice versa.

To continue the celebration, orders from the website for the New Britain Diary will receive a $6 rebate via PayPal through August, 2010. Because it is fun to see good work get out there, that’s also why.
