Happy New Year, No Matter What

January 22, 2017

Following up on last year’s delicious “Florid Victorian Ornament” by Cooper Esteban Renner (We coast/ Into Taos/ For Tacos/ At any cost…), Ravenna hits the deck running with two more poetry offerings:  ”Acceptable Time” by the Pacific Northwest’s own Tom Moore (as when/ the glass in the window/ became the child’s face/ I think/ that pause must be/ akin to eternity), and “Winter in Fargo” by Rodney Nelson, somewhat further east but synchronistically not far in spirit (I am glad of/ warmth and a window and late/ January of having a known place to watch).

Watch for “Variations in an Emergency” by Anne Lovering Rounds (shipping in early February), followed in the next few months by long overdue titles held up by our ponderously joyful move back across state to our Edmonds homeland: “Fingers Leak Their Way to the Heart” by Philip Quinn; “else as soons” by Gregory Cole; “Luz” by Lindsay Stern;  ”Veer” by Kim Chinquee — plus a full slate of terrific work that will last us through the year and into the next (which is why submissions are now closed until announced otherwise.)
