Charles Byrne
Death has its advantages
I am glad
I will not be around
to have to concern myself
with the feelings
of robots.
Human beings
Are they the two most unbearable sounds?
The sick man’s incessant cough?
The infant’s inconsolable cry?
Apprehension
I am
not happy
unless I am
unhappy.
Ellipse
Her tongue-tip
made a sidereal-period sweep of her lips
and with that gesture
washed them of my heart’s geniture.
Metaphor
The sea is
a sea of sky
somehow.
