Mark Danowsky
Negligent Reader
I have been known to read
poems, stories, possibly even memoir
without noting the author’s name
focused instead on how language
winds, snake-like, across pages–
thoughts mixing with fragments
of what may or may not be
or belong to us
Before
If you wanted to take photos
it was like carrying a guitar
but less presumptuous
Hours of riled up jestful
debate over actor’s names
we could never put a face to
You had to want for knowledge
and it had to be relevant
and you would not have forgotten
