A Wild Thing
The dollar store has a plastic cat mask on display.
I think of Holly Golightly who shoplifted
a plastic cat mask from a five-and-dime.
Misdemeanant. Firebug. Queen of the powder-room hustlers.
A blurt-out. A go-as-you-please. A spirit spontaneous.
But ultimately, a wild thing.
Find myself picking up the cat mask and pausing.
Checking for security cameras.
Glossary of Ballet Terms
Is it possible the glossary of ballet terms is
more beautiful than ballet itself?
Arabesque. Aplomb. Adagio.
Just think. No balcony binoculars.
No bulge of manjunk.
Just kick back and coffeetable-feet
with the printed-out pages.
Bravura. Coda. Cabriole.
Wake up later in a vodkafog.
White pages about the waistline like a bizarre tutu.
