Phil
Shils
deer
in the headlights
the grey echo
of several deer
a school of minnows
in the trees
shadow and radar.
one straggler
a gangly fugitive
and me
the interloper
as though
startled in
an alley
urinating
absent
the fireflies disappeared
with the heat of late july
empty yards
i noticed after seeing
the airplane light
move from
one oak tree
to the next oak
tree branch
