Dunes
After
the Painting by Kathy Collins, 2009
Sage is like gristle
in this entrée of sand
beyond ingesting
through a simple glance
over desert cuisine
garnished with thistle
tempting my vision amid
sparse ingredients
each savory gaze
of migrating dirt
just try to leave it
like tossing a napkin.
