Born in Dushanbe (present-day Tajikistan) in 1968, Andrei Sen-Senkov
is a graduate of the Yaroslavl Medical Institute and has lived
in Moscow since 2001 where he works as a pediatrician and acupuncturist.
He is the author of five books of poetry and was shortlisted for
the Andrei Bely Prize in Literature in 2006. He also works in
the fields of visual poetry, photography, and other visual media.
The selection appearing here is from his first book, Little
Tree on the Tear's Slope: Poems, Visual Poetry (Moscow:
Argo-Risk, 1995). His more recent books include Secret Life
of the Toy Piano (1997) and Holes Resist (2006).
