Remembering the Homeland, 1964
by Helen Losse

Riding across the Wiltshire plain
in Uncle Art's sedan,
I drew a map of England on my mind.
The sun painted
ancestral fields, Crayola-green.

I sketched myself in shadows
behind a Druid stone.
