Scherzo
The
vast sultan Night sits,
mighty, implacable.
His decree to Psyche:
Keep me entertained--
if you value sunrise!
Scherzando
I'll
do what I have to
to live
within reason
she thought
the
man unheeded,
her patron, boss,
his two eyes flaring off
in different directions
she
thinks of her dress,
dust on linen,
like a canvas,
as
a child
